Lion Head Angle
Style THKP Mam (?), Late twelfth - early thirteenth century. Sandstone long. 45 cm width. 47 cm high. 70 cm (Natural History Museum in Lyon, No. 81000014).

The great styling of this lion's head creates a certain kinship with the previous naga heads. You can find the exact equivalent of this motif decor (which nevertheless retains a symbolic significance) on a corner of the superstructure of the shrine north of Thanh Hu'ng group. However, bulging eyes, orbits stylized, muzzle prepared and flamed the scene which frames create a type that does not lack strength.
