Tympanum Decoration with Standing Female Figure
Late Xlth - early XIIth century, Chàn Lô style, Thu Thien goup Brown sandstone. H. 71.1 cm W 34.3 cm, D. 20.3 cm. Asian Art Museum of San Francisco Loan from the Christensen Fund, BL 77S3.

The Chành Lô coiffure is a stylization of the Trà Kiêu fashion where the inner row of petals was held by a ribbon. In the Thu Thiên group, this becomes even more mechanical, and the features harder in anticipation of the Thap Mâm style. The stance and the drapery of the garment of this image also point to tympanum figures of the Thu Thiên group of the Chành Lô style.
